Steps to Prepare VCDR for Student Labs

- Log in to vdi.27virtual.net

Intro
- Go to https://vmc.vmware.com/console/sddcs
- Log in with VMC username listed above
- Click on the 9 boxes in the upper right
- Select VMware Cloud DR
- Make sure your assigned VCDR Org (VMCEXPERT#-VCDR01)
- Click on Manage Region
- Click on Protected Sites
- Click on SET UP PROTECTED SITE
- Change Timezone to New York
- Enter Protected DC01 for the "On-premises site name"
- Click on SET UP
- Select Protected DC01
- Click on Deploy
- Copy the link for the ova
- Paste the link in to a new browser window to download it locally.
- REPEAT steps 7 - 11 to create Protected DC02 and Protected DC03
- Go to the onPrem vCenter under the VCDR Lab bookmarks tab.
- Username: [email protected]
- Password: VMwareVCDR1!
- Right click on the cluster and select Deploy OVF Template
- Click on Upload, select the downloaded OVF file
- Deploy the OVF using the Table below.
- All will be placed in DRaaS Connectors Folder
- All will use local Datastore (Thin Provision) I.E. LocalDS-11
- All will use vDS-Production-MGMT for VM Network
- REPEAT to deploy second cloud connector in this vCenter
- REPEAT for other vCenters

- Intro
- Power-on the DraaS Connector and wait for 10 to 15 mins before proceeeding
- Open Console to DRaaS-Connector
- Login as
- Username: admin
- Password vmware#1

Use the following values to configure the appliance
- IP allocation: (a) Static
- IP address: from chart above
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 10.10.5.1
- DNS Servers: 10.10.5.50
- Return to VCDR Console to get Orchestrator FQDN and passcode.
- Label: From Chart above
- Repeat for all Connectors
- In the VCDR Console, expand Protected Sites
- Select your Protected DC
- Click on REGISTER VCENTER
- Enter {vCenter Server IP}
- Select Authenticate with vCenter administrator
- vCenter administrator username: [email protected]
- Password: VMwareVCDR1!
- Click Register

- In the VCDR Console, go to Recovery SDDCs
- Click on Add Recovery SDDC
- Select Attach Existing SDDC, Click Next
- Select the listed SDDC, Click Next
- Type ATTACH SDDC in the box
- Click ATTACH

- Create On-Prem Mgmt-Net Group in Management Groups with
- 192.168.110.0/24
- 10.10.6.0/24
- Create JumpHosts Group in Management Groups with
- 66.216.X.Y adjust using the table below)
- Add On-Prem to vCenter Inbound Firewall rule to Management Gateway Firewall set the groups above as the Source
